Thank you for taking the time to look through our website. I hope it gives you a glimpse of what we call the "Spanish Cove Spirit." Although to really experience the feeling you need to come and spend some time with our wonderful residents and staff.

The "Spanish Cove Spirit," while hard to describe, can be seen and felt in the warm and caring interactions between residents and staff. It can be seen, heard, and felt in the buzz and laughter that occur daily in the dining room, the exercise areas, the pool hall, and in all areas of the campus. You see it in the care and support that people have for one another especially during difficult times. While every community has its own personality, we think you will find our "Spirit" somewhat unique.

You will also find our management style to be different than most other communities. While residents do not vote on everything, our Board of Trustees is composed of seven people, three of whom are residents. Also the officers of our residents' association sit on the committee that nominates candidates for our Board. Additionally, because we are a Public Trust with the City of Yukon as our beneficiary we are subject to the Open Meeting and Open Records Acts. In other words, all of our Board Meetings are open to the residents as are our records, with the exception of confidential resident and employee information.

In the past fifteen years we have developed three five-year Strategic Plans that were adopted by our Board of Trustees. These plans were developed by a committee of residents and staff working together to plan for a future that strives to keep Spanish Cove on the leading edge of retirement living while staying financially viable thus maintaining our goal of providing the best possible service at the lowest possible price.
